Welcome to yet another jam packed, brand spanking new edition of Toy News Tuesday! We’re the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you! There is just so much going on this week we don’t know where to start! Well, for one, this is actually only half of our Toy News coverage for this week! There was so much going on that we will be pushing out a second Toy News column later this week that is chock full of SDCC Exclusives! But for now, you’ll just have to settle for all of the normal Toy News for the week of June 16th, 2015!
Collectibles 65 Million Years In The Making
The world is still reeling in response to ‘Jurassic World‘s’ tremendous box office triumph this week, and why shouldn’t they? It took us almost over two decades to get a sequel to ‘Jurassic Park‘ that was this good! Now to do us one even better, ‘Jurassic Park’ fans and collectors can now rejoice as Chronicle has announced they recently obtained the license to the entire franchise! That means we can expect to see Chronicle producing figures, scaled dinosaurs, and even prop-replicas from all four films in the series! It hasn’t yet been determined what scale the standard figures will be in, but it’s a very exciting time to be a ‘Jurassic’ fan!

This September Walgreens is stepping into the exclusive collectibles market yet again! This time it’s with a series of exclusive Marvel Minimates based on several Animated Marvel properties like Ultimate Spiderman! This wave of Walgreens exclusive Minimates will consister of four figure 2-packs; Spiderman with Electro, Spiderman 2099 with Agent Venom, Captain America with The Hulk, and Starlord with Groot and Rocket Raccoon! Hellboy Begins
This week the team over at Mondo have announced a pair of very special new licensed statues based on Mike Mignola’s iconic ‘Hellboy’ character. But this isn’t the Hellboy we are used to seeing on the pages of Dark Horse comics… this is a specialty statue based on the very first sketch of Hellboy that Mignola ever drew! There will be both a Full Color ‘First Hellboy’ statue, as well as a Mondo Exclsuive Black and White Illustration ‘First Hellboy’ statue, priced at $200 and $225 respectively. In 1991, comic artist & writer Mike Mignola did a Black & White illustration at a comic convention of a demon character that bore the name “Hellboy” on his belt. Well, it only took a decade, but it looks like we’re getting our first ever full blown ‘Supernatural’ toyline! (No, those few POP! Vinyl figures don’t count.) Funko is bringing ‘Supernatural’ fans a whole series of blind-boxed Mystery mini vinyl figures based on the fan favorite TV show about two brothers fighting against ancient evils! Aside from Sam, Dean, Bobby, and Castiel, fans of the series can expect to find a plethora of other great characters from throughout the series history making up this wave of blind-boxed goodness. These are expected to hit stores this July.
Agent Carter, Reporting For Duty!
Better late than never, right? It looks as though we are finally getting some ‘Agent Carter’ merchandise in the form of this new Peggy carter POP! Vinyl figure from Funko! This figure is due out later this summer.
A Long Time Ago, From A Vault Far Far Away…
After a while, Funko general retires most of their older figure designs to what they have dubbed ‘The Vault’. A Vaulted figure is out of production and generally considered off the market, which often leads to their being much more highly sought after by collectors as they can no longer be easily obtained. But every so often an older, rarer figure design makes it back out of the vault for a re-issue, and this week Funko announced that yet another classic Star wars POP! had done just that! The latest classic Star Wars POP! Vinyl to escape the vault for a re-release is the Gamorean Guard from “Return of the Jedi’! These guys are hitting stores again now, but only for a limited time before being re-vaulted, so don’t wait!
Vinyl Idolz Inbound
The team at Funko’s subsidiary Vinyl Sugar have been hard at work on their Vinyl Idolz line of specialty figures! This September we’re getting a double dose of new figures by way of ‘Hot Fuzz’ and ‘The Walking Dead’ Vinyl Idolz figures! check out the full release from Vinyl Sugar below:

Hot Fuzz heroes Nicholas Angel and Danny Butterman come in the midst of taking down those responsible for a string of seemingly serendipitous murders.
Sgt. Angel comes packing an extraordinary amount of ammunition while his partner Danny Butterman holds an ice cream cone as homage to the film being part of Edgar Wright’s Cornetto trilogy.
