It seems director Scott Derrickson has been attending seminar’s put on by Bryan Singer on ‘How To Promote Your Marvel Movie,” as the man is already dropping tantalizing hints on Twitter as to the direction next year’s ‘Doctor Strange‘ might be heading. Check out the latest tweet from the man below:

For anyone not sure why this tweet connects ‘Doctor Strange’ to Thanos, here’s the scoop. Thanos, aka the Mad Titan, is known thusly for a lot of reasons, but one of the bigger ones is his obsession with Death. Not the concept, but rather the living Marvel personification of Death, who appears to Thanos as a hooded woman. And it is to impress Death that Thanos sets out to gather the Infinity Stones and wreak death and destruction across the universe. Granted, the MCU is most likely not following that story exactly, but its hard to believe there are not a lot of elements of that story that will make it in.

So when Scott Derrickson posts a old ‘Doctor Strange’ comic where the Sorcerer Supreme “meet’s Death” and then adds “As will we all…” it’s natural to assume that ‘Doctor Strange’ might just be going up against Death itself in his film, while also setting up the character of Death so we understand it and recognize it when Thanos comes a-courting later down the line. Of course, this could all be nonsense as well, so take it with a grain of salt. But it would be cool if this turns out to be true.

Do you think Derrickson is talking about literal “death” or the fact that one day we’ll all die (as some fans are already saying)? Will the character of Death factor into ‘Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 and 2’ ? Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments below!
