It’s time for yet another all new edition of Toy News Tuesday! We’re the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you! San Diego Comic Con 2015 is just around the corner and it seems like all of the sudden every company in the industry has decided that now is the time to make all of their big announcements about convention exclusives and then some! There’s no time to waste, so lets jump straight into the Toy News for the week of May 26th, 2015!
Hot New Iron Man Hot Toys
With ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron‘ still tearing up the box office all around the world, it comes as no big surprise to see Hot Toys announcing a few all new 16th scale figures based on the film! While we’ve been seeing most of the Avengers team being announced over the last few weeks, this time around we’ve got the all new Iron Man Mark XLV Armor and the new Iron Legion 1:6th scale figures! These two are both a ways away from release, but our first look at them from Hot Toys is below along with their full solicits-
In Marvel’s latest box office topping blockbuster, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tony Stark donned the brand Iron Man Mark XLV new armor with a new female Artificial Intelligence Friday for the Avengers’ final showdown with Ultron!
Many fans are fascinated with this new Iron Man Mark XLV armor’s unique streamline and extremely sleek design! And today, Hot Toys is very excited to officially present the collectible figure that many fans and collectors have been craving for – the 1/6th scale Mark XLV Collectible Figure!
The Iron Man Mark XLV is the 300th Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series collectible figure and it is also the latest addition to our MMS Diecast Series which the collectible figures are made of diecast material, and realistically designed to look even more like the armor as it appears in the film.
The movie-accurate Iron Man Mark XLV Collectible Figure is highly detailed and sophisticatedly crafted based on the image of the armor in the film featuring a meticulously sculpted armored body, specially applied metallic red, gold and silver colored paint with weathered effects, LED light-up Arc Reactor with hexagonal-shaped indent on chest, and a specially designed diorama base with a detachable damaged Ultron Sentry (Prime)!

In Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, the tech genius Tony Stark built new armored drones named Iron Legion to assist the Avengers during their missions. However, when Tony Stark tried to create the Ultron Program, the artificial intelligence rebelled and used the Iron Legion against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the Avengers Tower!
Hot Toys is pleased to officially introduce today the 1/6th scale Iron Legion Collectible Figure from the exciting blockbuster! The movie-accurate Iron Legion Collectible Figure is specially crafted based on its image in Avengers: Age of Ultron. It features a finely created armored body, metallic red, white, and blue colored on armor with weathered effects and Avengers decals, interchangeable armor parts, and a specially designed figure stand.
Mezco’s 1:2th Dark Knight Returns To SDCC and He Is Bringing Company
With the success of their recent One:12th scale action figure line, Mezco has pioneered an all new style of figure that brings the detail, articulation and style of popular 1:6th scale figures to a smaller more affordable scale of 6″ figures. The first figure released in thier style was their Batman based on Frank Miller’s iconic ‘The Dark Knight Returns’ storyline. This year at SDCC Mezco is bringing fans tha new spin n this already popular figure with their new One:12th Collective ‘Dark Knight Returns’ Deluxe Edition Box Set! This fiure two pack is set to include a special new version of Batman from ‘The Dark Knight Returns’, alongside the all new Mutant Leader One:12th figure! NECA Bringing A New Twist On ‘Pacific Rim’ To SDCC
As if you hadn’t given NECA enough of your money for their amazing toyline based on fan favorite robots-versus-giant-monsters epic ‘Pacific Rim’, this year at SDCC they are bringing out something truely unique and special that puts you right into the world of the film itself! NECA is releasing a special Replica Mini-Figure Box Set of several Jaeger and Kaiju toys that were actually seen in the film itself! For those of you that are still in the dark here, early in the film’s opening, a montage plays that shows the world as it reacts to the Kaiju’s existence, and during that montage you see a child playing with several mini-figures of Jaeger and Kaiju, and now you can OWN that set of figures! Otachi Taking Flight

Swamp Thing Coming From DC Collectibles
While he wasn’t mentioned on the recently released DC Collecitbles solicitations, it seems that were getting one final figure in the ‘New 52’ toyline in the form of Swamp Thing! This figure is based on the characters appearance in ‘Justice League Dark’ and is set to hit stores this November with a suggested retail price of $35. This price point has lead people to speculate that this figure will be taller than most of the DC Collectibles ‘New 52’ series figures, most likely standing at around 10″ tall rather than the standard 6″ scale.
