“Who will sit on the Iron Throne?” is a constant question on the mind of a ‘Game of Thrones’ fan. There are many theories out there that say that Jon Snow could end up as the ruler, but others think that Gendry could be the one. However, a new TV spot for the new season might sway towards another popular answer. Coincidentally, it also answers Beyonce’s question, “Who runs the world?” (Spoilers: The answer is girls.)
HBO recently released a new video for Asian markets to promote the upcoming fifth season of their acclaimed fantasy drama. It prominently features Tyrion Lannister and Varys as they travel to a new land as they search for a potential candidate to sit on the Iron Throne. Though we’ve seen the clip where Varys hints that the new ruler may be a woman (presumably Daenerys Targaryen), we also get to see some interesting new shots that we haven’t seen before. You can check out the spot below followed by the synopsis for the first episode titled ‘The Wars to Come’:
Cersei and Jaime adjust to a world without Tywin. Varys reveals a conspiracy to Tyrion. Dany faces a new threat to her rule. Jon is caught between two kings.
In addition to seeing some new footage from the next season, Spoiler TV has a myriad of hi-res photos as well. They come from all corners of this world created by George R.R. Martin’s ‘A Song of Fire and Ice’ series and include key players and supporting characters.
