Since the moment the first picture of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman hit the internet, fans have been wondering whether or not DC and Warner Bros made the right casting choice for the iconic character. (not to mention wondering whether or not the suit really was the best representation of the classic costume worn by the heroine in the comics). Without any footage to go by, or any more pictures, we were all left to wonder about the decision, eagerly anticipating ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice‘ to see how she fit into the world, hoping her part was large enough for us to get a sense of how Wonder Woman was going to be portrayed in the DC Cinematic Universe.
Now, after this most recent photo shoot showing Gal Gadot at the gym, fans should have some assurances that the woman has the right figure to play the tough Amazonian Warrior Princess, and from the intense looks she shoots at the camera, I’d say she’ll have the right presence and attitude as well. Of course, this was a photo shoot that had little to do with the DC movies, but just from Gadot’s looks here, I’m beginning to see why they chose her to play Wonder Woman. And the faith they have in her as the character. Not only will Gal Gadot be playing Wonder Woman in ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,’ but she will also be getting at least one stand-alone film in ‘Wonder Woman,’ as well as playing a major role in the upcoming ‘Justice League’ films.
For now, I’m sure the internet will continue to scrutinize these pictures and any other scraps of material about the actors and actresses involved in the upcoming DC films, hoping for some clue as to how it is all working out. For me, I’m content to sit back and await the first trailer for ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,’ and have faith that Warner Bros and DC know the stakes are too high to make missteps, especially if they want to find the same success as Marvel.
