After seeing the agonizing departure of Emily Kinney’s beloved Beth Greene from ‘The Walking Dead’ a few months ago, we saw a surprise return for the character during this week’s mid-season premiere that saw another fan favorite character perish in a spectacular manner. Chances are that we have probably seen the last of the actress on AMC’s adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s acclaimed comic series, but it looks like she’ll be entering a different comic universe later this year.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kinney will appear on ‘The Flash’ as a reimagined version of Bertram Larvan, the villain known as the Bug-Eyed Bandit that is famous for creating an army of mechanical insects to do his will. The classic DC Comics baddie has traditionally faced off against The Atom and that will not change as Brandon Routh brings his Ray Palmer from Starling City on ‘Arrow’ to Central City alongside Emily Bett Rickards’ Felicity Smoak for the episode titled ‘All-Star Team-Up.’ However, the change will come in the eighteenth episode of the freshman superhero series which sees Bertram Larvan become Brie Larvan, a narcissistic tech wizard who Felicity must have a hacker battle with to save The Flash’s life.

Kinney, who has recently booked a part on ABC’s ‘Forever’ after leaving ‘The Walking Dead,’

will join other prominent guest stars this season on The CW’s popular ‘Arrow’ spinoff such as ‘Prisonbreak’ stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, ‘The Tomorrow People’ star Robbie Amell, acting veteran Victor Garber, and sci-fi legend Mark Hamill.

What do you think about the new take on the Bug-Eyed Bandit on ‘The Flash’? Are you excited to see what Emily Kinney will do with the role? And what are your thoughts on a team-up featuring The Atom and The Flash? Share your thoughts and theories in the comments.
