The domestic and international trailers for the reboot of ‘Poltergeist have arrived and we’ve also got a slew of new promotional shots from the film to share with you! We know that this Sam Raimi produced film that is being directed by Gil Kenan is going to have a few changes from the original.

We know that the 10-year-old boy is really the protagonist this time around and while JoBeth Williams was the protagonist for the most part in the original film, it’s now the kid whose point-of-view we are seeing. The film has garnered  PG-13 rating so it doesn’t seem like it will be super scary like an R rating horror film would be.

Regardless, the images (which look like are from the trailer) do promise a movie worthy of its predecessor!

In the first image we have Kennedi Clements as Madison Bowen reaching out to apparitions that have invaded her family’s home in order to recreate one of the most iconic scenes from the original movie.

In the next shot we have another look at Clements. When describing the young actress Kenan says that, “There’s a bright light that shines in Kennedi. She had such a force of nature.”

The third image has Rosemarie DeWitt who is clearly not taking what is going on that well.

We also have a very familiar face in the form of a toy clown from the original film. I bet quite a few of you were hoping that this wouldn’t be making a comeback.

Another view from that iconic scene being recreated!

Finally we have a shot of Sam Rockwell as Eric Bowen and DeWitt again as his wife as they desperately try and hold on to their daughter Madison.

While I tend to hate reboots I will have to say that the screen shots and trailers show a lot of promise here.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming new take on ‘Poltergeist’? Do you think Raimi is going to have a hit on his hands or was there no reason to redo the original?
