Are You Sure You Can Drive One of These?

Every so often, a film introduces a character, item, or vehicle that instantly becomes an iconic piece of science fiction history. An unforgettable bit of legend that will forever be remembered as a game changer, or looked back on fondly. The classic sci-fi hit film ‘ALIENS” gave us that with the Power-Loader; and now Hollywood Collectibles Group is bringing it to life in amazing detail to put in your collectible… for the right price. The cost is a bit up there, but the item is limited to only 350 pieces worldwide, so it’s likely to be highly sought after by hardcore ‘ALIENS’ fans! The full release is below-
From the acclaimed Aliens™ movie, we are proud to present this magnificent Studio Scale Powered Work Loader!
Commonly referred to as a Power Loader, is a commercial mechanized anthropomorphic Exoskeleton used for lifting heavy materials and objects. More importantly it was also used by Ripley to defeat the Alien Queen! Painstakingly recreated from the original blueprints, no detail has been spared to make this the most accurate Power Loader replica ever made.
Presented for the first time ever as a Studio Scale model – exactly the same size as the model used in filming the movie! Standing an imposing 33” tall, and 25” wide this truly is an Epic™ scale model! Amazingly detailed, it features a webbing operator harness made of real material, a working light-up hazard light on top, and an accurate weathered finish. Our HCG Exclusive version also comes with a high quality 24″ x 18″ print of the Powerloader blueprints and specs sheet!
As with all Hollywood Collectibles pieces this museum quality Studio Scale model is constructed from heavyweight polystone and mixed media, then hand painted to the finest detail. The centerpiece of anyone’s Aliens collection!
Limited to 1000 pieces worldwide! The piece is priced at $1,199.95, or as little as $119 a month if you use an optional payment plan. The Power Loader is available for pre-order through hollywood-collectibles.com.

Aside from dominating the toy aisles with their popular Marvel and DC Superhero lines, don’t forget that with LEGO you really could build just about anything! In an effort to show just how widespread their reach is, LEGO recently announced that they’ve partnered with Warner Brothers to release LEGO sets based on the popular ‘Scooby Doo’ license! That’s right, soon you’ll be able to build Shaggy, Scooby, Daphne, Freddy, Velma, and even the Mystery Machine! There are a five sets planned currently, which are set to release later on this year alongside a new LEGO ‘Scooby Doo’ animated short!  The info on the Scooby Doo LEGO sets is below-

The Plastic Park Is Open

Some early images of Hasbro’s upcoming ‘Jurassic World’ toyline have hit a few weeks ahead of Toy Fair where they where likely to show off the line properly. From what we can tell based on these advance images of the toyline, it’s directed much more at children than it is adult collectors. Still, there’s something a bit charming about these dinosaurs, and they’re fairly reminiscent of the lines produced for previous films in the ‘Jurassic Park’ franchise!

It’s Blindbox Time!

With the blind-boxed vinyl figure craze sweeping the collectors market worldwide, various nostalgia fueled properties are being snatched up left and right to be turned into the next big thing for you to hunt down and collect! The crew over at The Loyal Subjects know this all too well already, as they’ve already produced blind-box figures based on Transformers, G I Joe, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Now their next big thing is on the horizon, and it’s Morphin Time!
Yes, you read that correctly, we’re getting a series of blind-boxed articular Mighty Morphin Power Ranger figures! They even have removable helmets to reveal sculpted heads designed to look like the cast of the original American series (aside from the Blue Ranger, who for whatever reason is blonde and lacks glasses, looking nothing like Billy/David Yost). Whether you’re a fan of Tommy as the Green Ranger or you prefer his time as the White Ranger, The Loyal Subjects has you covered since both are in this wave! They even threw in three iconic villains with Lord Zedd, Rita Repulsa, and Goldar!
Each of these blind-boxed figures stands around 3: tall and features 10 points of articulation. As previously mentioned, their helmets are all removable, and they each even come with their appropriate accessories and weapons! These are expected to retail around $13.99 each, so they’re a bit pricey for a blind-box figure, but it definitely looks like you get what you pay for here! These are expected to hit shelves this spring!

These new figures feature the standard 8 points of articulation that this line has featured since early on, and consists of 8 common figures and 4 rarer chase blind boxes. Don’t forget that there are a few special features throughout this wave too, like Wheeljack sporting LED helmet ears, Frenzy and Rumble feature spring loaded piston-arms, Blitzwing has a spring-loaded cannon, and Scrapper has a soundchip with various iconic ‘Transformers’ sound effects on it including the original theme song!
