DC Collectibles Opens The Vault

Over the years, DC Collectibles (formerly DC Direct) has released a TON of cool stuff for us to collect, but with all the awesome they’ve been producing on a pretty regular basis, the occasional item doesn’t make it past development to production! DC Collectibles is taking a look into their vault to see if there are any previously canceled items that you’d like to see given a second chance! There are a few options shown on their official blog, where you can Vote for your favorite! Items include a series of ‘DC Universe Online’ action figures, a series of 3.75″ scale ‘New 52’ style DC action figures, a Black Manta bust, a Mary Marvel Ame-Comi PVC statue, or a set of ‘Rainbow Batman’ figures! The post from DC Collectibles Official Blog is below:

Whether we’re talking action figures, statues, busts or any of the other unique items we’ve released, we produce a lot of cool stuff here at DC Collectibles. But there are always ideas that never really come to fruition. Often they’re never more than just that—an idea in our heads. But sometimes they go beyond the idea stage. Sometimes we’ll commission sketches or designs, and occasionally a full-on sculpt and paint.

We thought we’d look at a few of these unproduced ideas today as part of our weeklong DC Collectibles celebration. All of the above collectibles were sculpted, but never produced. They rest quietly in our vault—a reminder of things that could have been.

What do you think? Should we have released them? We’d like to know which of these unreleased collectibles (or line of collectibles) is your favorite. If we were to release one of them, which would you most like to see? Let us know by VOTING HERE!

New DC Display Pieces

With all of the other announcements happening lately, it’s easy to miss a few! In the past week DC Collectibles has announced at least four new statues or busts, and we wanted to make sure you knew about each of them! First up we’ve got a new Deadshot bust based on his New 52 appearances in ‘Suicide Squad’; a Batwoman from DC Collectibles’ ‘Bombshell statue series; the stylized ‘Art of War’ Wonder Woman statue based on her recent animated short; and finally an all new Firestorm staute from their DC Comics Icons line! All of these are due out in Fall of 2015!

And with that, we bring Part One of this week’s Toy News Tuesday to a close! Be sure to stat tuned to ScienceFiction.com today for the rest of this week’s news in Part Two!
