Nintendo has revealed that only the New 3DS XL will be coming to North America on February 13.

The new model of the Nintendo handheld system will priced at $199.99 and will come in either black or red. So far, two decorated special-editions bundles have been announced, one with ‘Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D‘ and the other with ‘Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.’ Only the ‘Monster Hunter 4’ special-edition will come with its respective game pre-installed digitally onto the handheld out of box. Those who get the ‘Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D’ special edition must purchase the game separately.

Unfortunately, the system will not include an AC adapter. In a statement issued by Nintendo of America to IGN, this is due to the company’s desire to raise cost efficiency and to not charge the consumer if they already own one from a previous 3DS or DSi purchase.

Despite the New 3DS XL coming stateside, there are currently no plans to release the smaller regular-sized version of the New 3DS over here. While being the same as the New 3DS XL, the regular New 3DS features custom face plates.

According to a report by Polygon, Nintendo of America stated the regular-sized New 3DS would not do as well in the North American market.

“Different territories make their own business decisions regarding individual products and timing,” Nintendo of America said. “We think New Nintendo 3DS XL makes the most sense for our market. Nintendo makes different systems at different price points for a whole range of consumers, and New Nintendo 3DS XL simply expands those choices even further.”

The New 3DS XL model features a variety of improvements over its previous version. For starters, it has a faster GPU, which allows it to player more powerful system-specific games as well as download content much quicker from the 3DS eShop. It’s 3D functionality has also been improved to work regardless of which angle it is viewed. There is also the addition of an analog button which makes it easier to control 3D videogames that feature camera movement and control.

The New 3DS XL will be releasing alongside ‘Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mark 3D’ on February 13.
