One of the actors that time and time again shows us how much he had fun making ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ was Dave Bautista. This outtake with him as Drax the Destroyer has to be the funniest that they’ve shown us yet!
Director James Gunn shared with fans a gentler side to the Destroyer as Bautista transforms the killing machine into Drax the Tinkerbell! Gunn has been known to share a ton of pictures and video on his various social media accounts and he likes to give us unreleased footage or pieces that show us more of the film-making process and not the standard promotional material. Honestly, if all directors were like this we would never be able to get anything done with how many fun extras we would be getting.
So, for TinkerDrax, I’m going to just share it with you first for the pure joy this will bring you. Seriously you just can’t make this stuff up!
Yes ladies and gentlemen,Bautista playing Tinkerbell in costume as Drax. This shot was taken from when Drax was in the Kyln, lands with a robot, and tears the thing into two. For an actor that had so much comic relief in his scenes, it is truly fitting that he was allowed to have this much fun in the outtakes as well. I honestly can’t wait until they return in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2.’ The humorous aspect is a turn away from the classic portrayal of a hardened killing machine, though it is a change I feel that is truly appreciated and helped make him more relatable to audiences.
