Wyld Stallyns will party on again! Unfortunately, it won’t be on the big screen just yet. While Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves are working with the original creators of the film series to iron out the details for ‘Bill & Ted 3,’ BOOM! Studios will release a brand new comic book adventure featuring the two most excellent time travelers/rockers. Earlier this week, editor Ian Brill teased on Twitter that the book series was on its way with the picture above, but now we have some concrete details about ongoing journeys of Bill S. Preston, Esquire and Ted “Theodore” Logan.

Nerdist exclusively shared the first look at ‘Bill & Ted’s Most Triumphant Return,’ a six-part series from writers Brian Lynch and Ryan North and artists Jerry Gaylord and Ian McGinty that will launch in March 2015. Back in 1991, Bill & Ted first graced the pages of a comic book thanks to Marvel Comics and Evan Dorkin’s ‘Bill &Ted’s Excellent Comic Book,’ but it’s uncertain whether that series will be considered canon in Lynch and North’s stories. Either way, you can check out two of the covers for the first issue below, followed by a synopsis of the book:

Following the time-traveling historic epic of ‘Excellent Adventure’ and the turbulent life and death of ‘Bogus Journey’, Bill and Ted must now fulfill their destiny as the inspiration for galactic harmony! How can someone hate the Wyld Stallyns as much as the evil Chuck De Nomolos? With the power of time travel, Bill and Ted set their sights on turning a young 27th-century Nomolos’ non-non-heinous attitude into something most outstanding and metal!

Naturally, I’m stoked to see the return of Bill & Ted, but two other characters on that first cover totally stand out and have me excited. First, there’s the 16th president of the United States Abraham Lincoln, who played an important role in the San Dimas duo’s first film. Second, there’s Station, the genius alien that assembles the Good Robot Usses to defeat Chuck De Nomolos. Both characters are certainly fan favorites, so its awesome to see that they’ll be involved in the series in some way. Hopefully some other familiar faces like Socrates, Death, and Rufus pop up as well.

What do you think about ‘Bill & Ted’s Most Triumphant Return’? Do you plan on putting it on your pull list at your local comic shop? Does San Dimas High football still rule? Sound off in the comments.
