Monolith Productions’ ‘Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor’ has received a brand new launch trailer and a season pass trailer to go along with it.

Depicting the game’s epic fantasy story, ‘Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor’s’ launch trailer showcases a darker side to the Tolkien universe with Talion, a ranger who was murdered alongside his family by the forces of Sauron, After being brought back from the dead by a wraith named Celebrimor, Talion sets off on a journey for vengeance that soon becomes one that will determine the fate of Middle Earth.

Something for fans to definitely take note of from the trailer is the references to Tolkien lore with the appearance of Gollum (voiced by Liam O’Brien and not Andy Serkis) and Celebrimor, the great Elven King and the crafter of the Rings of Power.

Along with the ‘Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor’s’ launch trailer also comes an announcement trailer of its season pass. Priced at $24.99, the pass will include three new missions as well as extra modes and items.

Of the included missions, the first is ‘Guardians of the Flaming Eye,’ and has Talion taking on the forces of Sauron in front of the Black Gate. The second mission,‘Lord of the Hunt,’ gives Talion the chance to tame the epic legendary beasts of Mordor. While the third mission ‘The Bright Lord,’ throws players in the role of a living Celebrimor as he faces off against Sauron himself.

In terms of the pass’ other content, it will also feature four unlockable challenge modes with accompanying leaderboards. Additional weapons/runes and player skins for Talion will be made available as well. Lastly, the season pass promises to deliver unannounced future content on top of what has already been offered.

‘Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor’ is now available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will release on November 18.
