Just when you thought it was safe to not worry about body parts being sewn together, there is another new take on ‘Frankenstein’ coming and the lead has already been cast! Actor Xavier Samuel (‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’, ‘The Loved Ones’) is already on board to play modern day version of Frankenstein’s Monster.

The film was written and will be directed by Bernard Rose (‘Candyman’, ‘Immortal Beloved’) and puts the characters and action in modern day Los Angeles. We’ll be seeing the monster “created by a husband and wife team of eccentric scientists only to be met with nothing but aggression and violence from the world around him.”

The couple who create our monster, Victor and Elizabeth Frankenstein, will be portrayed by Danny Huston (‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’, Children of Men’) and Carrie-Anne Moss (‘The Matrix‘, ‘Memento’). Also starring in an unanounced role is a character that Rose has worked with previously as the infamous Candyman himself, Tony Todd (‘The Man from Earth’, ‘The Rock’). I can’t wait to see how he’s going to be involved! Gabriela Bacher, Heidi Jo Markel, Jennifer Holliday Morrison, Christian Angermayer, and Klemens Hallmann are on board as producers.

So far this year we’ve already seen ‘I, Frankenstein‘ and another take on the monster in ‘Penny Dreadful‘. On top of this there have been a slew of low budget horror films revolving around Frankenstein but notable for the character is the upcoming 2015 release of Fox’s ‘Frankenstein‘ that have James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe as the leads as well as the Universal Studios take on the character.

What do you think of another ‘Frankenstein’ film? Do you think this character is being overly used right now or are we still open for more takes on the mad scientist and his monster?
