When it comes to celebrity superfans, one of the first names that comes to mind is most definitely Chris Hardwick. When he’s not working with Nerdist Industries, the comedian can be found hosting ‘@midnight’ on Comedy Central, ‘Talking Dead’ on AMC, and panels at some of the biggest comic book conventions around the country.

This time around, Hardwick was on hand at the Doctor Who World Tour in New York City to host a very special screening of the upcoming episode and a Q&A with stars Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman with showrunner Steven Moffat.

Prior to taking the mic inside the Ziegfeld Theater, Hardwick walked the blue carpet to greet the fans and talk with a few members of the press. When it came time to chat with us, we talked about his expectations for the new season and how excited he was for the new stars to see how enthusiastic the American fans are.

The conversation also ventured into potential extracurricular activities between the Doctor and the Nerdist. Previously, on ‘All-Star Celebrity Bowling’ back in 2012 at San Diego Comic-Con, the pop culture enthusiast and his cohorts challenged Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill, and Steven Moffat to a few frames. But would he be up to the challenge of facing Capaldi on the lanes? Find out in the video below, which certainly sounds better than the last time we talked to Hardwick on camera at NYCC 2012:

Oh, and speaking of our encounter at New York Comic Con, I mentioned in my article for my last video interview with Chris Hardwick that I wish I had asked him about ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Singled Out’, and ‘Boy Meets World’. Well, in this supplemental video, you can see that my wish actually came through:

Do you think that the Nerdist team could take on Team TARDIS on the bowling lane once again and emerge victorious? Let us know in the comment section.

The new season of ‘Doctor Who’ featuring Peter Capaldi’s 12th Doctor debuts on Saturday, August 23rd at 8pm ET on BBC America.
