Since the show was announced, we learned that ‘Gotham’ would star a very young Detective Jim Gordon and spotlight the origins of some of Batman’s most notorious villains like Catwoman, the Penguin, and the Riddler. But what would the world of Batman be without his greatest nemesis, the Joker? Previously, we heard that there would be hints alluding to an appearance from the Clown Prince of Crime in the series, but now we get to see a fairly obvious one.

After recently seeing a new trailer from this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Fox’s upcoming superhero procedural drama released an extended trailer on their YouTube titled ‘The Good. The Evil. The Beginning.” that features Robin Lord Taylor as the Penguin, Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney, and Camren Bicondova as a very young Catwoman. But if you pay attention towards the end, you might catch some familiar images at the scene of the crime. You can check out the promo below, followed by the show’s synopsis:

Everyone knows the name Commissioner Gordon. He is one of the crime world’s greatest foes, a man whose reputation is synonymous with law and order. But what is known of Gordon’s story and his rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner? What did it take to navigate the multiple layers of corruption that secretly ruled Gotham City, the spawning ground of the world’s most iconic villains? And what circumstances created them – the larger-than-life personas who would become Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker. GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics super villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist,” “Rome”), GOTHAM follows one cop’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time.
