Next week is San Diego Comic-Con International and you KNOW that fans will be expecting loads of surprises regarding ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’.  The film will arrive in a flourish next summer, as the sequel to the third highest grossing film of all time.  Considering since that film, each Marvel movie has done massive business topping those that came before, can ‘Age of Ultron’ actually out-perform ‘The Avengers’? I wouldn’t be surprised!

Last year, in the famed Hall H, Marvel showed footage from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ which was only a few weeks into filming.  ‘Age of Ultron’ is almost completely shot, so there should definitely be quite a few treats.  But prior to the huge event, Marvel actually screened some footage for reporters in the UK.

Unfortunately, it was kept under security, so there is no leaked footage to view, but I do have a few details that were reported.

First, as seen in the first picture, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Junior) has a new set of “Hulk Buster” armor and will be slugging it out with the angry green giant (Mark Ruffalo).  Why are they fighting?  The footage didn’t reveal that, unfortunately.  It’s been steadily denied that there will be a ‘World War Hulk’ movie, but if he turns against his allies, could they resort to drastic measures?

Iron Man also had a suit of “Hulkbuster Armor” in ‘Iron Man 3’ but like the rest of his armor in that film, it was destroyed.  Looks like he built another!

There was footage of Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), but from the sound of things, it’s a rehash of the ‘Thor’ post-credit sequence.  Some additional footage of Taylor-Johnson was shown, but minus the special effects, so it just looks like he’s jogging.

Additionally, some shots were displayed of Avengers Tower.  This is a rebuilt version of Stark Tower, which was demolished in the first movie.  This newly renovated structure is said to heavily resemble the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier which was also destroyed in the previous film.  The new structure will include living quarters for the heroes (which when you think about it, makes sense since most of them were homeless) and side-by-side labs for Stark and Banner.

The Avengers will be trotting all over the globe, just as they did in the first movie, popping up in Italy, South Africa and South Korea.  The South Africa shooting makes fans wonder if the Black Panther will put in an appearance, but the film is nearly complete and no one has ever been announced as cast in the role, so that probably won’t happen, unless they’ve done an incredible job of keeping things quiet.

What do you think?  Can you stand the wait?
