The first clip from ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes‘ has arrived and appears to feature s scene from early in the movie, of possibly the first interaction between a group of humans (led by Jason Clarke as Malcolm, Kodi Smit-McPhee as his son and Kerri Russell as Ellie, as well as others) and Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his intelligent apes.  Not surprisingly, it doesn’t go great for the humans.

In addition, we get Casar’s first word possibly in the entire movie.  You can watch the clip below:

Directed by Matt Reeves (‘Cloverfield’, ‘Let Me In’), ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ takes place ten years after ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes‘ in a world where most humans have died off from a biological weapon, which was also responsible for the apes gaining intelligence.  While the humans scramble to survive, the apes are evolving to the point where they are forming their own society.  In addition, the movie also stars Gary Oldman, Judy Greer and Toby Kebbell.

Although Caesar can speak, Sirkis and Reeves informed fans that the other apes are not as advanced and that instead they would communicate via simple gestures, sign language an vocalization.

Here is the movie’s synopsis:

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth¹s dominant species.

The movie opens on July 11.  Are you excited to return to this reality?
