This latest television spot for ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction‘ introduces us to one of the new villains of the film, Lockdown. Lockdown will be voiced by the always amazing Mark Ryan (‘Black Sails’, ‘The Prestige’) who has previously voiced Bumblebee in the first film, Jetfire in ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ and actually got to act as a drone operator in ‘Transformers: Dark side of the Moon‘. Oh, he’s also done various voices for the video games so he has had a little bit of experience with our giant robot friends (and enemies.)

So what do we know about the latest villain? Well he goes by the name of Lockdown and transforms into a Lamborghini Aventador. What a great disguise! No one will be looking at that one trying to check it out! Lockdown is apparently a Decepticon bounty hunter who pilots a ship full of decommissioned Transformers that will include the Dinobots who we know are being introduced in the movie. Not only does he have all of these inactive Transformers with him, but he uses parts from other Transformers to upgrade himself.

Personally I’m just curious if he is here for himself, on behalf of an old order from Megatron, or his newly resurrected self in the form of Galvatron.

So yes, he looks like he is going to make a great villain. I just wonder how friendly he and Galvatron will be by the end of the film. It is far too early to see if they’ll be on the same page or working for themselves by that point.

Are you looking forward to Lockdown being introduced on the big screen? Do you think he’ll make a good enemy to the Autobots?
