At last year’s E3, Electronic Arts announced that they would be teaming with LucasArts to reboot the ‘Star Wars: Battlefront‘ video game series. ‘Battlefield’ developers DICE were revealed to be on the project to the joy of gamers everywhere and the game was scheduled for a 2015 release. Now, at this year’s E3, we have an update on what’s being called the ‘Star Wars’ game that fans have always wanted to play.

A video was shared earlier this week that chronicles the great lengths that the creators are taking to get this game right. Not only were they given access to the Lucasfilm archive to closely examine the iconic props and models from the legendary films, but teams of designers were also sent to the actual filming locations to get a better feel of the exotic environments from the planets in a galaxy far, far way. You can check out the footage below to get the latest on the upcoming ‘Star Wars’ game:

To be honest, this might be one of the most realistic looking video games that I’ve ever seen in a while. I had a hard time deciphering when the real footage stopped and the gameplay began. I mean, the speeder bikes were a dead giveaway, but even those looked incredibly realistic. I can’t wait to see what the whole thing looks like when it’s finished.
