WonderCon is always a great source for the latest in science fiction and fantasy and Lucas Arts is sharing a new clip from ‘Star Wars Rebels‘ with us! It has a brief introduction by Vanessa Marshall (‘Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox‘,’Young Justice’) who is playing Hera in the series which you’ll see in this clip. It is an action sequence and some of her heads up display visuals might look a little familiar to long time fans of the films.
This really looks like a fun new show that has plenty of throwbacks to technology that we’ve seen in not only previous ‘Star Wars’ films, but also with effects that look modern!
If you really enjoyed that clip, we have a bonus treat for you! Below is a featurette of an interview with Kevin Kiner who is the composer for ‘Star Wars Rebels’. Here, Kiner discusses his musical background, what inspires him to write the music that will be heard in the animated series and previews a little of the theme song for the new show!
Regarding the theme song, Kiner (who also was the music composer for ‘Star Wars: Clone Wars‘) states that “tone-wise, the music for ‘Star Wars Rebels’ will have a different sound. It’s going to be a little closer to ‘A New Hope’ than ‘Clone Wars’ was. Now, to be able to go back and start using John’s themes in different ways is exciting for me.”
What do you think of the latest footage? Are you excited for the show’s release? Are you excited to see some animation that includes Hera’s character who hasn’t been overly featured to date? Share your thoughts below!
