Marvel superheroes had a big weekend as both ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ and ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ dropped some pretty awesome trailers during this year’s Super Bowl. However, they’re not the only characters heading from the House of Ideas to the big screen this year. James Gunn will introduce the world to Star-Lord, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot when ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ hits theaters this summer. But the ragtag group of unlikely champions will also be joined by an all-star cast including Karen Gillan, Benicio Del Toro, Glenn Close, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, and John C. Reilly, the last of which was out and about talking about the Phase Two film recently.

While at this year’s Sundance Film Festival to promote his upcoming zombie movie ‘Life After Beth’, Reilly spoke to Flicks And The City about his role as Rhomann Dey, a Nova Corps officer that has been said to be the equivalent of Agent Phil Coulson to the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After joking that “Marvel would put me in handcuffs if I say another single word about [‘Guardians of the Galaxy’]”, he touched on his experience with working with actors in alien makeup versus working with them without it:

“Well, it’s funny… I’ve played characters that had extreme looks before too, and I think what happens with actors is that [they] just forget. You just forget what’s on your face because you’re just looking out through your eyes of course. Working with Zoe [Saldana] – I only met her one time when she wasn’t the color green – I think, on the last day, and I was like ‘You’re beautiful’ and she was like ‘Thanks!’.”
