All throughout 2013, news has slowly been leaking out regarding the remake of ‘The Fantastic Four’ under the direction of ‘Chronicle’ helmer Josh Trank. As far back as May, there were early talks of casting that placed Michael B. Jordan and Allison Williams as Johnny and Sue Storm AKA the Human Torch and the Invisible Woman. Then, things really picked up in October after Simon Kinberg joined the project as a writer and producer because a good-sized list emerged featuring more contenders for Sue and her husband, Reed Richards AKA Mr. Fantastic. Now, Kinberg appears to have handed in his script and the production is ready to move forward even more.

Kinberg’s rewrites are now complete and the studio plans on testing actors and actresses for Sue and Reed by the end of the month. The report also confirms that Miles Teller and Kit Harington are both still on the list to be tested for the patriarch of Marvel’s First Family. But in addition to those two fine young men, Harington’s ‘Game of Thrones’ co-star Richard Madden is also on the list for testing. As for Reed’s better half, Kate Mara and Saoirse Ronan are still in the running. Finally, they’re told that Jordan is already attached to play Johnny Storm and will participate in the tests to see which group has the best chemistry.

One thing missing from the proceedings however is a collection of actors for Ben Grimm, who is better known as the blue-eyed ever-loving Thing. The fourth member of the team has been noticeable absent from any and all talks of this reboot. Of course, there are questions about whether he’ll be CGI or make up and a suit, but the bigger question pertains to who will be the one behind all the technology.

Considering that the end of the month is in less than two weeks, we may get a better idea of who will be portraying this new version of the beloved Marvel Comics family. Until then, what do you think about the choices for Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman? Are you open to Michael B. Jordan playing the part of the Human Torch? Sound off in the comments below.

‘The Fantastic Four’ is scheduled to hit theaters on June 19, 2015.
