Earlier this week, we got a look at the titular dragon played by Benedict Cumberbatch in Peter Jackson’s ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ adorning an Air New Zealand plane. Now, thanks to some new videos that hit the web recently, the fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s books from Middle Earth can check out some other characters that will inhabit the second movie in this new trilogy starring a hobbit named Baggins.

In the first new clip from IGN, Orlando Bloom returns to the role of Legolas alongside Lee Pace’s Thranduil as they interrogate a prisoner who comes to the elves with a bleak warning of certain death. You can check out the scene below:

Next, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, we have another elf-filled clip featuring Bloom with Evangeline Lilly’s Tauriel, a brand new character that was created specifically for Jackson’s movies to act as the head of the Elven guard. The director and his wife/producing partner Fran Walsh came up with the Woodland Elf in order to bring another female into a largely male-dominated cast. Here we see Tauriel in action as we learn a bit of her history with the Elven member of the Fellowship of the Ring. Unfortunately, there’s no embed code available, so you can click on the picture below to lead you to the video:

Finally, the last character that we present to you is the director himself, Peter Jackson. The filmmaker has shared another video blog from the set of the film on his Facebook page to show his audience various things going on behind the scenes. Take a look in the video below:

What do you think of the newly released heavily Elven footage from ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’? Are you excited to see Orlando Bloom armed with a bow and arrow once again? Let’s hear your thoughts in the comment section.
