Now that Wonder Woman has been confirmed as appearing in ‘Batman Vs. Superman’ with rumors still swirling loudly that both The Flash and Nightwing will also appear in this movie, what about the rest of the DC Universe? There were possibly vague references to both Green Lantern (or more specifically Star Sapphire) and Aquaman in ‘Man of Steel’. But the movie Superman, Henry Cavill himself, wants to see another hero brought to life on the big screen. Cyborg!
In a bonus feature on the BluRay release of ‘Man of Steel’, Cavill states:
“What really intrigued me was Dr. Hamilton’s connection to S.T.A.R. Labs, Cyborg I think would make a wonderful character and an incredible bridge between both super humans and humanity in a different way than Batman. So I don’t know where he’s going to come in or if he’s going to come in but that’s one I’m particularly excited about.”
Cavill’s statement that Cyborg could “bridge” the gap between humans and super humans makes perfect sense. The character has been elevated in importance in recent years, graduating from the Teen Titans to becoming a founder of the current Justice League, replacing Martian Manhunter in a way. Plus, the super hero movie-verse has been noticeably… well, white. Sure we have Don Cheadle as War Machine and Anthony Mackie coming up as The Falcon, but that’s on Marvel’s side of things. DC doesn’t have many heroes of color to speak of, with Black Lightning and Vixen as possibly their biggest names in terms of African American characters. Cyborg would make a welcome presence in the movies!

What do you think? Would you like to see Vic Stone on the big screen? And who would you like to see in the role? Also, what other DC heroes do you think deserve the theatrical treatment? Comment below!
