The trailer for Disney’s live action movie ‘Maleficent’ has arrived and shows that Angelina Jolie can play one terrifying sorceress!
Revisioning classic fairy tales is not new. With ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ being successful enough to warrant a sequel, it seems that everyone is jumping on the fairy tale wagon when it comes to films. This time around, Disney has decided to give the classic ‘Sleeping Beauty’ more of a ‘Wicked’ spin and lets movie goers see that perhaps Maleficent has gotten a bum deal all these centuries.
Jolie makes an excellent sorceress and reminds me of the same presence Charlize Theron had in ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’. The trailer does a great job teasing you enough that you want to see more!

Synopsis:
“A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.”
