It’s Geek Week on YouTube and what better way to celebrate the occasion than to have one of Marvel’s superhero films premiere on the site. The newest trailer for ‘Thor: The Dark World’ is now online and you can watch it in the player below:
It’s been about 4 months since the first trailer for the film was released and while Loki only appeared towards the end, he’s featured much more in this one, much to the delight of those who may still be upset that he won’t be in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’. For those who were lucky enough to be at Comic-Con and saw Tom Hiddleston arrive in character, you’ll notice that the trailer contains a lot of the highlights that were shown to the crowd there. Gotta admit, those Loki smirks that Hiddleston is so good at giving have been missed since ‘The Avengers’. And when Jane slaps Loki for what he did to New York? Priceless!
The new “buddy team” of Thor and Loki as they work together means that there will be some good brotherly exchanges between the two. Only complaint? Wish there were more footage of Christopher Eccleston as Malekith. But the movie’s debut is 3 months away, so there’s plenty of time for that as a trailer or two and clips will surely be released as the date gets closer.
So while the summer is coming to a close, it doesn’t mean that blockbuster movies are ending as there’s still ‘Thor: The Dark World’ to look forward to!
‘Thor: The Dark World’ continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s Thor and Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
Directed by Alan Taylor, ‘Thor: The Dark World’ will be in theaters on November 8, 2013 and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
