It’s been a while since we’ve heard something new from the Asgardian side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe aside from Loki’s appearance at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. But ‘Thor: The Dark World’ is coming our way sooner than we think and promotions for the film are set to kick off very soon, especially since a new trailer is set to drop next week as part of YouTube’s Geek Week. But before that happens, August brings us a brand new poster for the God of Thunder’s return to the big screen.
Entertainment Weekly unveiled the new poster on their site and you can see it in all it’s glory below:
It’s not a particularly groundbreaking poster, but it certainly does the job by spotlighting Thor and Jane Foster, who is sporting some lovely Asgardian garb. Then, aside from the two leads, you have the evil Malekith the Accursed and his Dark Elves in the shadows, as well as the returning cast of the Warriors Three, Lady Sif, Heimdall, Odin, and Loki. Nearly all the leads (minus Kat Dennings, who’s said to have an expanded role this time around) make it onto the poster that seems reminiscent of some vintage ‘Star Wars’ images that feature the villain’s giant looming head in the background behind the heroes in the forefront.
What do you think of the new poster for ‘Thor: The Dark World’? Are you excited for the new trailer next week? What do you expect from the Thunderer’s next outing on the silver screen? Let’s hear your thoughts in the comments.
‘Thor: The Dark World’, starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano, Zachary Levi, and Anthony Hopkins, is scheduled to hit theaters on November 8, 2013.
