Recently, the public got it’s first look at Paul Giamatti in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ as Aleksei Sytsevich, the man who eventually becomes the rampaging Rhino, but prior to that we got some shocking set photos of Jamie Foxx as Electro and his non-villainous alter ego, Max Dillon. Now that we’ve been getting some unofficial looks at the new faces in Marc Webb’s sequel, maybe we’ll be getting something official sooner rather than later.

In an interview with Yahoo! Movies, Foxx revealed that he’s anxiously awaiting San Diego Comic Con, the Mecca of pop culture that takes over the quiet California city each summer. By the sounds of his comments, Sony is gearing up to show off some of the footage from the follow-up last year’s web-slinging reboot:

“Now I’m just waiting to get to Comic-Con and see how people respond to it. Marc Webb is a genius and Amy Pascal and everybody at Sony have just been so gracious to allow me to have this opportunity. So it’s cool.”

Taking place from July 17-21, SDCC is going to feature some of the biggest names in movies, television, and comic books as they unveil some of the things that fans can expect in the coming year. Companies and studios usually save some huge announcements for the event, so it’s not surprising that Sony is going to make ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ have quite the presence. After all, back in 2011, that was the venue that they chose to give the first looks of the Lizard from the first film, so naturally they’d be looking forward to sharing in that experience again with the community in Hall H (or whatever hall happens to be available at the time).

Are you going to try to get into that panel to see the first clips from ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’? What other movies do you think will make their presence known at the San Diego Convention Center this year? Let us know if you’ll be at Comic-Con this year and maybe we’ll meet up and say hi!

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field is set to hit theaters in 3D on May 2, 2014.
