For those of you that enjoy watching horror anthology films, this one may be for you! A red band trailer has just been released for the upcoming film ‘Sanitarium’.

For those of you unfamiliar with this type of horror film, its basically a grouping of different stories that all somehow relate to the central theme of the film. For example, In ‘Campfire Tales’ (1997) a group of teens get into a car accident and decide to each tell a scary story to pass the time until AAA arrives. Once they all have told their story, it is then revealed to the audience that all of the kids in the car wreck are actually dead and in turn they all become a scary story or urban legend themselves.

The most recent/well known horror anthology would be V/H/S (and its sequel), but a lot of these types of films had their heyday back in the 80’s/early 90’s. I’m glad to see they’re making a comeback.

‘Sanitarium’ seems like it could be a very nice addition, not only does it have the amazing Malcolm McDowell as the narrator to guide us through tales of the macabre, but also includes the love of my life Robert Englund. Double score!  It also looks like the way the film is shot won’t make the viewer want to hurl with jerky camera movements.

‘Sanitarium’ also stars David Mazouz, Chris Mulkey, John Glover, Lou Diamond Phillips and Lacey Chabert. Directors include Bryan Ramirez, Kerry Valderrama and Bryan Ortiz and while the film will make its debut at the Miami International Film Festival on March 1st, it doesn’t yet have a theatrical release.

Let us know if you would see it in theaters in the comments section below!
