Nobody likes spoilers. For a lot of people, there isn’t anything worse than being told the ending of a movie, the outcome of the newest episode, or the reveal of a major comic plot point. Lately, major comic book storylines have been spoiled due to people leaking information before they’re meant to be revealed. Most recently, it happened with ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ #700 and ‘Batman’ #17, and now it looks like the Dark Knight is the victim once again of internet piracy.

Before I continue, there are obviously big SPOILERS coming up, so if you read ‘Batman Incorporated’, proceed with caution.

According to Comic Book Resources, a photo has surfaced of the variant covers for ‘Batman Incorporated’ #8, which is scheduled for release on February 27th. These covers pay homage to Grant Morrison’s ‘Batman: R.I.P’ storyline from 2008, except in the Caped Crusader’s place is Damian Wayne as Robin. Underneath the shadowy Boy Wonder are the letters “R.I.P” with the R replaced by Robin’s iconic symbol. You can check out the covers below:

The upcoming story arc in ‘Batman Incorporated’ has been kept tightly under wraps, but due to Damian’s absence from the covers of the upcoming Batman books in DC’s solicitations for May, there have been rumors spreading that Grant Morrison’s next story revolves around the death of the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. Now, it practically seems like these rumors have been confirmed, unless Morrison and DC planned this as a massive swerve for the fans.

This leak is most peculiar because ‘Batman Incorporated’ #8 is far enough from it’s release that retailers shouldn’t have copies of it yet. Diamond usually sends out books the Tuesday before their release, so it’s quite the mystery how these covers leaked already.

Following the events of the recently wrapped ‘Death of the Family’, this new Batman tale is pretty heavy news if what we think is going to happen actually happens. But keep in mind, Bruce did fake Damian’s death once in this title to keep him safe from his mother once before, so it’s possible that the Dynamic Duo has one more of those tricks up their sleeves.
