Back in October, Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo presented us with the first installment of the event called ‘Death of the Family’ in the pages of ‘Batman’. In this story, The Joker has returned from Gotham after not having been seen in a year and he has his sights set on Batman’s allies, collectively known as the Bat Family. From issue 13 onward, we’ve seen Joker pull this sick and twisted plan together, but now, the story is coming to an end this week as issue number 17 is being released and we’ll finally find out what the Clown Prince of Crime has up his sleeve for Bruce Wayne and his kids.

But for some of us, we have a long day ahead of us before we can get to our local comic book stores to pick up our pull lists. Luckily, thanks to Comic Book Movie, we can have a little sneak peek at the issue before we get to read the whole thing. You can see the unlettered cover and the first four pages of ‘Batman’ #17 below:

I don’t even want to speculate on what has happened to Alfred because I don’t want to be right. I’m having flashbacks of when I first read the last book in the ‘Harry Potter’ series and I got to the page where Hedwig died. Scott Snyder, you cannot do this to us!

I’m afraid to ask this question because I don’t want to know the answer: What do you think happened to Alfred? Are you ready to rush out of your cubicles when the working day is done to pick up the finale of ‘Death of the Family’? Share your comments below, and be on the lookout for our review of ‘Batman’ #17 later this week!
