The first TV spot for the Tom Cruise film ‘Oblivion’ debuted during the NFC Championship game on Sunday and if you missed it, we have it here for you to watch below!

This is the first of several sci-fi films that Cruise is involved in. He’s currently filming ‘All You Need is Kill’ and is attached to star in the time travel film “Our Name is Adam.’

In ‘Oblivion’, Cruise plays Jack Harper, one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. The drones patrol the post-apocalyptic planet extracting vital resources and blast any savage alien life forms that may still exist after decades of war with humans. His life changes, however, when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.

The TV spot provides a lot of action and the concept of “life as you know it is not the reality” has a Matrix feel to it. Cruise has certainly proven he can still play the action hero and after ‘Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol’ and ‘Jack Reacher,’ it’s no surprise that he’s taken the same role here.

Check out the first, of what will surely be many, of the TV spots for ‘Oblivion’ below!

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, ‘Oblivion’ stars Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Melissa Leo, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Andrea Riseborough and will have an exclusive run on IMAX theaters on April 12th with the premiere in regular cinemas on April 19th.
