PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale already has a significant number of characters to master, but SuperBot Entertainment is making sure that the fun never ends.

Months ago, the studio announced two new characters that would be making their way to the battle via DLC, Kat from Gravity Rush and Emmett from Starhawk. Finally, SuperBot has revealed that the downloadable content will be available on February 12 here in North America, and on the 13th overseas. No price was given, but it doesn’t really matter since the two characters will be available for free for the first two weeks, so make sure to get them even if you don’t have the game yet.

Aside from the two new characters, a new stage called “Fearless” will be available during the month as well. Like other All-Stars stages, the setting features a mash-up between two well-known Sony franchises; this time, they are Heavenly Sword Wipeout. The stage opens with a single platform in which players will be in constant close-quarters combat. However, the ground eventually gives way, dropping fighters into an arena with multiple platforms and a racetrack that will pose as an environmental hazard as cars fly by and breakneck speed.

PlayStation All-Stars was launched on November 20, 2012 for both the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita, serving as SuperBot Entertainment’s first game. While sales were initially slow, the game has recently developed a large online community of players, with Sony officials stating that sales for the game “are right on target with expectations.”

With the game a success, SuperBot promises that this is only the first round of DLC, and hopefully we’ll be seeing plenty of new characters over the next year. Check out the two trailers below for some insight on what to expect from the gravity-defying Kat and the long-ranging specialist Emmett.
