In keeping with the holiday season, the BBC has released this little video gem of Commander Strax singing his version of popular Earth Christmas carols.

For those unfamiliar, the “potato head” looking Strax is a Sontaran, an alien clone from Sontar who was first introduced to Whovians in the episode ‘A Good Man Goes to War.’ Sontarans are an extremely militaristic being whose sole purpose is geared towards warfare. Strax, however, has teamed up with Madame Vastra and “her companion” Jenny in the upcoming ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas episode, and while not as radical to the Sontaran philosophy as he was brought up to be, he still maintains the rudimentary fundamentals of his heritage.

With that being said, any Whovian can see why Strax has decided to amend some of the holiday songs to fit his world view.

Joined by the Doctor, Clara, Madame Vastra and Jenny, watch Strax as he serenades Whovians around the world with his rendition of ’Santa Clause is Coming to Town,’ ‘When the Red, Red Robin Comes Bob, Bob, Bobbin’ Along,’ and ‘Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.

‘Doctor Who’  returns for another adventure on Tuesday, Christmas Day, December 25th on BBC America at 9pm ET/PT.
