‘Star Wars II’ continues to create a buzz in the industry. With Michael Arndt already in place as the scribe and Disney actively looking for a director, the next question is who will star in the film. With Mark Hamill, Carrie Fischer and Harrison Ford all expressing an interest to return to the franchise, another name who would consider  joining the ‘Star Wars’ bandwagon is Tom Hiddleston.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Hiddleston was asked if he’d be interested in appearing in the upcoming trilogy. A bit taken aback with the question, he replied, “Goodness — I hadn’t thought of that! I mean, yeah, sure! I’m a huge fan, especially of the first three, cause I grew up watching ‘Star Wars’ and ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ and ‘Return of the Jedi.’ So, absolutely, yeah. It would depend on the story and the character and things.”

Hiddleston has worked with Kathleen Kenney before in ‘War Horse’ and admires the head of LucasFilm saying, “(She’s)  a filmmaker of such extraordinary experience and wisdom – she’s one of the best producers I’ve ever worked for. She just knows her way around the medium and the art form and the industry, so I think I’d take it very seriously if they asked me.”

The question is, however, would Disney ask him? Granted, he has worked with the studio playing an infamous villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but that could cause an executive to be hesitant to even use Hiddleston.  The actor himself hinted on this saying, “But I don’t know, maybe people would associate me too closely with Loki – I hope not.”

What do you think? Could Hiddleston pull off starring in two huge franchises or do you think people will see it as Loki appearing in ‘Star Wars?’
