About two months ago, we started getting some teasers from Marvel for their new titles that they’d be unveiling as part of their new Marvel NOW event. Each teaser contained one big word and the names of the creative team for that title. We’ve found out through these teasers who’d be behind the new Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Fantastic Four, Captain America, and Deadpool books, plus a few more, and now we’ve got some more. Thanks to Comic Book Resources, we now have a very vague idea of a few books coming our way in January 2013.

The first teaser sports the word “Superior” with the names of writer Dan Slott and artists Ryan Stegman, Humberto Ramos and Giuseppe Camuncoli. Judging from the red and blue color scheme and the inclusion of Slott, I’m guessing that this will be a Spider-Man book. It’s been reported that ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ would be ending with issue #700 in December, so Spidey is in the market for a new main book, so it would make sense if this teaser ended up being for just that.

The next teaser is for a new book by Frank Cho. Back when I talked to him at Baltimore Comic Con, the creator mentioned that he’d be working on a Marvel NOW title and that it would be revealed in October some time, possibly at New York Comic Con. I’m guessing this is that book that he was referring to. Showing the word “Savage” with three claw marks on it makes me immediately think of Wolverine, however, there’s been talks that Cho would be revisiting Shanna the She-Devil, a character that he has a bit of history with. Either one would make sense. But the way he answered my questions back at BCC might lead one to think that it could even be both. Go back and watch the interview and deduce for yourself until we find out the real answer.

The final teaser we have features the word “Amateurs” with the creative team of Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie. I’m most excited for this one because this team did a story for ‘Marvel NOW!: Point One’ involving one of my favorite teams in the entire Marvel Universe, the Young Avengers. At least, a few of their members anyway, alongside Kid Loki and the new Miss America. The last two could very much be considered amateurs, so it would make a whole lot of sense if this was a book for a brand new Young Avengers line up. Man, I hope it is.

With New York Comic Con right around the corner, maybe we’ll find out exactly what some of these might be. If I find anything out while I’m at the con, I’ll be sure to report right back to you, True Believers! But until then, what do you think of these teasers? Do you have theories of your own? Share them in the comments!
