It’s a good time to be Philip Seymour Hoffman! Not only is his newest film ‘The Master’ getting glowing reviews, he’s also appearing in the hotly anticipated sequel ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ and will now be taking the director’s seat for a new supernatural film called ‘Ezekiel Moss.’

‘Ezekiel Moss’ is a script that made it on last year’s Black List and is summarized as a “mysterious stranger who possibly has the power to channel the souls of the dead changes the lives of everyone in a small Nebraska town, especially a young widow and her 11-year-old son.”

Keith Bunin, who wrote the script, has also written on the HBO series ‘In Treatment’ and his recent screenplay ‘Horns’ is currently under pre-production.

‘Ezekiel Moss’ will be Hoffman’s second time helming a feature. His first film, ‘Jack Goes Boating,’ received numerous nominations for the Independent Spirit Awards and won him the Chlotrudis Award in the category of Best Actor for the film.

Cathy Schulman from Mandalay Pictures who is producing the film says of Hoffman’s involvement:

“Hoffman is one of the great talents of our generation.  We are thrilled to be in his capable hands directing this captivating and gothic exploration of faith and the supernatural.”

Producer Anthony Bregman has also added:

“Philip Seymour Hoffman is an unsurpassed artist — as an actor and director, on stage and in film.  Year after year, he stuns us with his gift for finding the most interesting and precise expressions of a dramatic moment.”

Casting has just begun on the project with no release date given.
