Nowadays, in order to promote a feature film, the studios will set up a website, Facebook and Twitter page. But a movie isn’t considered a major one unless there’s an app to go with it! Most apps are pretty simplistic and half-hearted, but with this new one for ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey‘, Warner Bros. has decided to do something special.
The ‘Hobbit Movies’ app is free and includes animated lenticular character portraits, movie info, production videos, 360° views of scenic locations and settings and some great character image galleries and bios.
We actually have some of the images included in the app as well as some great character stills from the studio! Looking at them, it seems obvious that this film, with its epic and picturesque qualities, will no doubt be leading the box office this holiday season.
The images have only increased my excitement for the film and December seems just too far away before we begin the adventures with Bilbo Baggins and his accompanying band of dwarves.
