The upcoming alien abduction thriller “Dark Skies”, slated to begin production on August 3rd and had added their male lead, actor Josh Hamilton (Kicking and Screaming, The Bourne Identity). Hamilton joins actress Keri Russell (Felicity), child actor Dakota Goyo (Real Steel), and Daniel Barrett.

“Dark Skies” is under the production of Jason Blum and Blumhouse Productions, and is being co-produced by Alliance Films and Dimension. Blumhouse is known for taking no-budget horror films and turning them into serious box-office gold, like they did with their previous films like Paranormal Activity and Insidious.

The film, directed by Scott Charles Stewart (Priest, Legion), centers around a six-year-old boy, presumably played by Goyo, who has been “marked” for future abduction by aliens currently living among us. A self-proclaimed “psychological thriller,” the film touches on themes of child abuse, as the child’s parents, increasingly removed from their friend and neighbors, have no choice but to stand up and save their son.
