WARNING! MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD! UNLESS YOU HAVE THE SILENCE ON YOUR SCREEN, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Ever since the cast and crew of ‘Doctor Who’ came to New York to film what will be one of the most memorable episodes of the season, speculation has run rampant about its details. After all, it will be the last episode that will feature Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory Pond (Arthur Darvill) as the Doctor’s companions and they will be up against the Weeping Angels! So what better surprise than to find out that a symbol of freedom located on the waters of New York Bay on Liberty Island is actually a quantum locked assassin.

The news comes from the British rag mag ‘The Daily Star’ which has been more often than not correct on many of their reports about ‘Doctor Who’. They have confirmed that Lady Liberty is secretly a Weeping Angel.

Of course that brings to mind, “How can THAT be?” since Weeping Angels are supposed to be made of stone and not copper and steel which the iconic statue is constructed of. But since we are dealing with the mind of Steven Moffat (who just happened to write this episode), we’ll have to wait to see how he explains that little fact.

The episode is titled ‘Bye Bye Pond’ which is apropos as although we already know that it’s the last episode with the Ponds, does it also mean that they will meet their demise? Moffat has already teased about this episode by saying “Amy & Rory will leave in a final encounter with the Weeping Angels in episode 5. Not everyone gets out alive & I mean it this time.”

‘Bye Bye Pond’ will be the episode that airs just before the new companion Clara (played by Jenna Louise Colman) will be introduced in the Christmas special.

So get your hankies ready as in just a few short weeks, Whovains will begin their last travels with the Ponds in the TARDIS.
