The Hulk

One of the many things that made ‘The Avengers’ so good was undoubtedly Mark Ruffalo’s portrayal of The Hulk. Despite being such a fan favorite from the film, Bruce Banner’s name was nowhere to be found on the slate of Phase Two movies that Marvel unveiled at Comic-Con last weekend. However, that does not mean that we won’t be seeing the gamma-rayed gladiator elsewhere. After all, we mustn’t forget that Guillermo Del Toro is working on a live action television series for ABC starring the not-so-jolly green giant.

In an interview with MTV, Del Toro revealed that he has met with Marvel recently to discuss the project. The director/producer said:

“I have had a couple of minutes with Marvel since ‘Avengers,’ and they have the screenplay. We’re waiting for a particular writer to do a rewrite on the pilot. That’s where we are right now. But we’re still on.”

I wonder who this “particular writer” working on the latest draft is. Maybe it’ll be someone big who can push this series further into production. There are restless fans out there who desperately want more Hulk sooner rather than later.

How would you all feel about the new series being a loose sequel to the original series? would Marvel have a problem with it?

If they did a loose sequel now they’ll probably reveal that Banner
didn’t die from the fall instead went into deep hibernation, the down
side it would lack any supporting characters or villains from the comics
and use only the continuity of the Bixby/ Ferrigno show.
