We’ve seen the Lizard in action. We’ve seen him terrorize Peter Parker’s girlfriend Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). We’ve even seen a pre-Lizard Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans) in some creepy viral videos. But do we know the Lizard?

Director Marc Webb, Rhys Ifans, Andrew Garfield, and Jerome Chen (the visual FX supervisor on ‘Amazing Spider-Man’) are all featured in a new video released via the ‘Marvel: Avenger’s Alliance’ Facebook page. Even though the video only clocks in at just over two minutes, the film’s creators and stars manage to give us some insight into the design of the Lizard and how he behaves as a villain (or a misunderstood creature).

Many Spider-Man fans have been upset that the film version of the Lizard doesn’t have the elongated snout that he has in the modern Spider-Man comic books but I was glad to see that the filmmakers took care in creating something that worked on film rather than giving us some cheesy CGI beast.

Are you ready for the Lizard to tear up NYC? What do you think of the look of the Lizard or of Rhys Ifan’s interpretation of Dr. Curt Connors? Let us know in the comment section below.

‘Amazing Spider-Man’ is directed by Marc Webb, stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, and Dennis Leary. It swings into theaters in 2D, 3D, IMAX, and IMAX 3D on July 3, 2012.
