When Arnold “The Governator” Schwarzenegger left office as Governor of California early last year, the former Mr. Universe and action star announced his intentions to return to his acting career. At that time, word was that Arnold was being courted on all sides, mainly to appear or at least cameo in new movies based on the franchises that he made famous, namely ‘Terminator’ and ‘Predator’.

Well now MovieHole has announced that, in an interview with Action Effect, Schwarzenegger has at least confirmed one of those rumors. Yes… he will be returning for, not one… but TWO more ‘Terminator’ movies!

Here’s what Schwarzenegger had to say:

I can’t say to much they want it held in secret if you know what I mean, but I will say that next year I will start filming it and it’s going to be one of the hardest films I have ever done I can tell you that already for sure… they have six months set aside just for filming, so I will be training and getting into the best physical shape I possibly can before filming starts. It does follow Salvation although some of the producers and franchise owner were not too happy about the job McG did with it but they felt it was good enough to continue on and they want the fifth and sixth installments to be the closing of the franchise.

I’m sure I’m not the only fan who thinks this is a terrible awful bad idea. Don’t get me wrong. I love Arnold! I may even watch ‘The Expendables 2’ just to see him in action again. But I can’t see the nearly 65 year old actor playing a Terminator again. I mean… Hollywood’s gotten better at altering the age of actors but this is a bit of a stretch!

There’s no word yet on who will be directing these new ‘Terminator’ films. When we last heard anything, Justin Lin (‘Fast and Furious’) was allegedly taking the role but that was rumor even then.

What do you think? Are you excited to see Schwarzenegger returning to the ‘Terminator’ universe? Who would you like to see write and/or direct the next couple of entries into the franchise? Comment and let us know!
