Today seems like the day for horror flicks. We just saw the wild and crazy trailer for the shark-in-a-grocery-store flick ‘Bait 3D’. And now we have a different type of horror in the Sam Raimi produced thriller aptly named ‘Possession’.
‘Possession’ is based on a true story about a girl who purchases a wooden box off of eBay and ends up getting more than she bargained for. Here’s the official synopsis of the flick:
Clyde and Stephanie Brenek see little cause for alarm when their youngest daughter Em becomes oddly obsessed with an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. But as Em’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic, the couple fears the presence of a malevolent force in their midst, only to discover that the box was built to contain a dibbuk, a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host.

‘Possession’ stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan (‘The Watchmen’), Kyra Sedgwick (‘The Closer’), and Madison Davenport (‘Shameless’) and is directed by Ole Bornedal (‘Nightwatch’) from a script by Juliet Snowden and Stiles White (both of ‘Boogeyman’ fame). It crawls into theaters on August 31st.
