The cast of the Netflix exclusive original series ‘Hemlock Grove’ is rapidly filling up with some pretty decent names. First there was Famke Janssen and Bill Skarsgard (‘Anna Karenina’). Then ‘Terra Nova’s Landon  Liboiron and Penelope Mitchell joined the crew. Most recently (yesterday in fact), it was announced that Freya Tingley was on board.

Now we may be ready to add actor Dougray Scott (‘Mission Impossible II’) to that growing list. According to Deadline, Scott is in final negotiations to play one of the lead roles in the series.

For those who haven’t been following along so far, ‘Hemlock Grove’ is a series created by Eli Roth and based on the upcoming novel from Brian McGreevey. The show (and book) follow the story of the murder of a young girl and the mystery that surrounds that event. Most of the story revolves around the Godfrey family that owns the steel mill near where the mudrered girl was found. Dougray Scott will be playing the role of Norman Godfrey, a founder of the Godfrey Center for Biomedical Technologies and older brother-in-law to Oliva (Janssen).

It’ll be interesting to see how this gothic story shapes up and even more interesting to see how Netflix fares in the arena of offering original programming. If ‘Hemlock Grove’ succeeds, I’m sure we’ll see much more of it on Netflix, Hulu Plus, and other video streaming services very soon.
