With all of the casting for the MAD TV alum Michael McDonald’s ‘Beautiful People’, this show should be just about ready to get filming. This robots-become-aware series began announcing its casting about a month ago with James Murray (‘Primeval’) and Patrick Heusinger (‘Black Swan’). Then Frances Conroy (‘American Horror Story’) was added to the cast about a week later. Two weeks ago, NBC cast five more roles. Now we cut to late yesterday, when Deadline reported that David Conrad (‘The Ghost Whisperer’) and Tovah Feldshuh (‘Law & Order’) have joined the cast.

Conrad will be playing the head of Universal Kinematics, the company that creates the robot people for the show. Conrad’s character is described as a “Steve Jobs-type … genius”.

Feldshuh will be playing the head of the Mechanical Control Division at the police department. Her character’s role is to keep the mechanical people under control.

With the info on the show and the casting thus far, it looks like ‘Beautiful People’ could turn out to be quite an interesting sci-fi drama series. What do you think? Are you looking forward to this Bladerunner-esque drama? Or are you going to give this one a pass?
