If you’ve been enjoying the Marvel amines that G4 has been airing lately, then make sure you don’t miss tonight’s premiere episode of ‘Blade!’ Voiced by Harold Perrineau (‘Lost’, ‘The Matrix: Reloaded’, ‘The Matrix: Revolutions’), ‘Blade’ will have a 12 half hour episode run and promises to be filed with “more action, terrifying villains and bloodthirsty monsters” that has never been seen before.
If you’re new to the series and to who ‘Blade’ is, here’s a synopsis provided by Marvel:
Blade’s mother was bitten by a vampire while pregnant, imbuing her unborn son with vampire strength and a thirst for blood, but without the vulnerability to sunlight. A master of weaponry with a desire to avenge the death of his mother, Blade finds himself in Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia in an effort to take down the evil villain, Deacon Frost. With vampire hunter Makoto at his side, they will stop at nothing to destroy Existence, a vampire organization with roots deeply embedded in Asia.
‘Blade’ is the final original anime series developed from a partnership deal with G4 and Marvel. It will follow in the footsteps of ‘Iron Man’, ‘Wolverine’ and ‘X-Men.’ The Marvel amine series have done well for G4 with each of the limited run shows reaching over 1.2 million unique viewers on a Friday night.
From the clips that have been released, the anime show already looks promising! Perrineau’s voice seems to really fit the character of Blade. I enjoyed watching the ‘X-Men’ anime and look forward to seeing how this one will turn out.
