With almost a year to go before Marc Webb’s ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ hits theaters on July 3, 2012, Sony Pictures announced today they’ve already added the sequel to their schedule.
‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ is officially scheduled to be released on May 3, 2014.
One Sony executive says of the move, “I think it speaks volumes about our confidence in what we are seeing on the new film and our desire to move quickly on the next installment.”
Despite the fan excitement over Joss Whedon’s ‘The Avengers’ coming out next year, Spider-Man has always been Marvel’s flagship character and, as a Spidey fan since… well… forever, I am excited to see the webslinger getting another round of films.
