When I was a little girl, I was always convinced that my toys had adventures while I was sleeping. I’m not the only one who felt this way. I’m also not alone in my belief that bad things happen in the Dark. The Stuff of Legend Book 2: The Jungle continues where book one left off and takes us deeper into the Dark. The toys are still on the hunt for their boy; he was kidnapped by the Boogeyman. This creature from nightmares is not willing to let them wander about his realm without pursuit and obstacles. To escape the Boogeyman’s wrath, the band of brave toys must enter the Jungle. But even there, they cannot hide from dangerous foes. There seems to be no safe shelter. The Stuff of Legend is not a friendly tale. It’s dark and twisting, and the toys are full of surprises. Their fierce loyalty leads some of them to make questionable decisions. The story by Mike Raicht and Brian Smith is not predictable; I like that element of surprise. I don’t know who will make it out or if there will be a happy ending.

If you haven’t read the first book in the series, I recommend picking it up. It sets the stage and is just as enjoyable as book two. However, you won’t be lost in the second volume if you haven’t read it.
